A skydiver had a miracle escape after he plummeted 6,000ft when his parachute was opened too late. James Boole, from Tamworth, Staffordshire, pulled his ripcord just seconds before he hit the ground.
The 31-year-old father-of-one was in Russia filming another skydiver for a TV documentary when he says his partner signalled too late and he opened his chute two seconds before hitting the deep snow of a mountain top at 100mph.
Mr Boole broke his back and ribs, bruised a lung and chipped some of his teeth.
He was rushed to hospital in Moscow before being flown back to the UK in a body brace and is now recovering at home.
The mechanical engineer has been parachuting for 12 years and has completed more than 2,000 jumps.
