A contestant who won £10,000 on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? got a shock at her bank when she was told the cheque had bounced.

Lucy Harpur, who appeared on the quiz show on 26 May was told that there were 'insufficient funds' to honour the cheque and was hit by a bank fee of £38, reports The Sun.

2Waytraffic, who produce the series for ITV, had told winners that the cheques would be post-dated to last Monday  - a week after the episode had been screened.

However, when Lucy went to her bank on Wednesday it was still not there. She told the paper: "There was nothing in my account. I wonder if the other winners' cheques bounced too. If the firm can't cash £10,000 how will they pay out the jackpot?"

A show insider said that the mix-up was due to an 'admin error' and says that all contestants have now received what they won. However, Lucy last night claimed that the money was still not in her account.
