There is much hype about greening of the planet and the cosmetics industry is an area being hit on all sides.

The FDA globalization Act 2008 is aiming to do something, though quite what remains unclear, as the industry has little faith than this is nothing more than a revenue raising programme, with scant regard for the benefit to consumers.

The Environmental Working Group, which is a campaigning group, that sets its sight on safety, decries that every policy introduced is of little value, yet never seem to engage in discussion.

The fairtrade mark, seems destined to have little impact as there are so few cosmetics ingredients which are fairtrade.

Consumers themselves appear not to be particularly interested in green cosmetics, appearing to try the green products and then reverting to their 'favourite' formulations.
