Here is an article that backs up something I have believed in for years.  You have to get motivated to lose weight. Be prepared to start your diet, mentally and physically prepared, and you are whole lot closer to losing the weight then you know. Get ready GO.

If I cheered from the treadmill, it was because of what I heard on the Today Show. The founder of First30days.com, Ariane de Bonviosin talked about the importance of making a sincere committment to behavior changes in the first 30 days of a weight loss program. She is so right!  This is the stage I refer to as; "weight loss begins in the brain cells before it reaches the fat cells".

It was also my experience that the initial 30 days of weight loss is crucial to overcoming the fear of failure, changing old habits and letting your body get into a new groove.

Ariane and psychotherapy Robi Ludwig also emphasized the need to find another successful "loser", ask what he/she did and solicit their support. That's the ideal description of my role as a Certified Health Coach who begin as a successful loser. Every time I guide clients to successful weight loss and changing their negative relationships with food to postive living, it's like experiencing the thrill of my own weight loss.

If you are in that all important initial 30 days of weight loss, be kind to yourself. This is an endurance climb, not a sprint. You can do anything for 30 days. Then decide to go 30 more days and 30 more until your body creates new health habits that it will fight you to stay healthy. Whether it takes two months or ten months, take it 30 days at a time or 7 days at a time. Just keep adding one more day and you'll add years to your life. You can do it!
