| AVOID THESE COMMON CLICKBANK AFFILIATE RESELLER MISTAKES | Published: 04/07/09 |

One of the most notable affiliate marketing mistakes is to think that all you have to do is find Clickbank affiliates that pay the most, sign up and drive traffic to that site through your Clickbank affiliate link. Unfortunately, for 95% of Clickbank affiliate resellers, it just doesn't work that way. It’s great to choose a Clickbank affiliate program that pays a high percentage, but that’s not the most important thing to consider. It’s much more important to find a quality affiliate program that meets certain criteria. Here are three red flags to watch for when choosing a Clickbank affiliate product to resell: 1. You want to make sure the product is a proven seller. You don’t want to waste your time and money driving traffic to a site that doesn’t convert. Find one with a good conversion rate. Look on Clickbank for product rankings, that will show you which products have sold the most and how long they have been offered for sale. 2. Before you join a Clickbank affiliate, make sure the affiliate site protects its affiliates, and has your best interests at heart. Look for one that provides banners, e-mails, and other tools you can use to promote the site. Also, make sure that there is only one payment option. As a Clickbank affiliate marketer, you need to be sure that you will get credit for your referral. If there is more than one payment method, you can and will get short-changed. It is strongly recommended that you resell Clickbank products only, since they have been around the longest and they also offer "cloaked" affiliate links so no one can steal your commissions. 3. Do not choose a Clickbank affiliate program that promotes an e-mail course. Nothing is worse than becoming an affiliate to a site whose first goal is to capture e-mail addresses, and then tries to make the sale second. This is known as "leakage". Once that person clicks for the email course, your Clickbank affiliate link is cancelled and you WILL NOT get credit for the sale should that prospect buy later. Stick with Clickbank affiliate programs that aren’t focused on capturing leads because it’s simply not in your best interest.
