The series might have come to an end but it doesn’t meant the drama has, as last night it emerged that Kimberly Garner had been dropped from the show two weeks ago. Kimberly, who has had one of the most tempestuous story lines this series, reportedly became involved with a confrontation with her co-star and close friend Harriet (we think she was in one episode) at a preview screening of the show. Apparently Kimberly was furious about Harriet’s claim that Kimberley was in a relationship with her ex when she went on a string of dates. We’re not sure if it’s so much a ‘claim’ but the truth considering her ex also came forward to say it happened but anyway the row got so heated between them that they had to be separated by producers. Speaking about the incident, Harriet said: ‘Yes. I think it had been brewing for some time. Everyone saw. ‘Kimberley was unhappy with what was shown on the programme and thought I’d gone against her and she turned her back on me. ‘I voiced it quite loudly and said, “I said it exactly how it was and I defended you,” and she said, “No you didn’t.” We were in a public building and there were other events going on and they didn’t want us rowing in front of other people. ‘We were getting quite loud and the producer said, “Can we all go downstairs” and we were taken downstairs. We were arguing loudly. ‘You know when you grit your teeth because you’re so mad, and under the pressure it chips? I’ve got to go to the dentist and get it fixed this week.’ Eh? That’s pretty bloody extreme isn’t it? Kimberly was seemingly also as upset because the following day she tweeted: ‘Headake [sic] back, cried since I got home. How can some girls be so mean?’ Kimberley then reportedly got her lawyers to contact the show and have Harriett’s comments removed and as a result an edited version of what she said was aired. It may have been a small victory for Kimberley but it was the final straw for producers. A source revealed: ‘I think bringing in a lawyer was the final straw and the producers were quite shocked.’ A spokesperson for Channel 4 said: ‘It’s not unusual for the channel to make ongoing editorial decisions on a programme up to transmission.’ And as of yet Kimberley has kept schtum. What do you lot think? Would you be sad to see her go or does her voice grate on you as much as it does us? We know Cheska is probably devastated by the news…not.
