| THE GREED OF ROMNEY AND REPUBLICANS COULD DESTROY THE AMERICA WE LOVE | Published: 17/06/12 |
|
|
Mitt Romney and the Republican Party he now "leads" are determined to do one thing. Force average Americans to pay for the economy they crashed and the debt they caused with their own greed. They slopped at the government trough and pocketed cash advances off the American credit card for years and now that the bill has come due they simply refuse to pay their share of that bill. Instead they expect working Americans to pay for their greed once again. The American worker who has seen none of the gains from that greed and have already bailed it out once. Unfortunately for America the greed of folks like Romney is a never-ending evil. The greed and idiocy of Republicans is so deep-rooted even common sense proposals are rejected. Worse yet, any proposal that even hints at sacrifice by them is completely scrapped. In their world you are the problem and should simply stand by as they pick you clean once more.
Even proposals that ask them to sacrifice in a minimal way are denounced. Republicans feel that the wealth they picked clean from the rest of us should be protected at all costs. Even when Republicans are asked to give one dollar towards the debt for every ten we give they balk:
Mitt Romney is doubling down on the now-infamous rejection of a fiscal policy deal that would provide $1 in new taxes for every $10 in spending cuts.
"I do feel that way," Romney said in an interview broadcast Sunday on the CBS program "Face the Nation", defending that stance.
"Government is big and getting larger and there are those who think, well the answer is just to take a little more from the American people," Romney added.
"One of the absolute requirements of any tax reform that I have in mind is that people on the high end . . . will still pay the same share of the tax burden that they are paying now. I am not looking for a tax cut for the very wealthiest. I am looking to bring tax rates down for everyone," he said.

Yes the sad truth of the matter is this. Republicans like Mitt Romney hate their country and the people within so much they do not believe they should have to sacrifice anything for anyone. They are so determined to keep the wealth they picked clean from the rest of us that nobody is sacred to them. They have seen the good times roll on for themselves while everyone else suffered for three decades now and they cannot stand the thought of that ending.
Sadly, it is easy to see who Mitt Romney and the Republicans think should sacrifice. The most helpless among us and those who have lost the most from the policies of greed that have bankrupted our country and enriched a very few selfish idiots:
Governor Mitt Romney's proposals to cap total federal spending, boost defense spending, cut taxes, and balance the budget would require extraordinarily large cuts in other programs, both entitlements and discretionary programs, according to our revised analysis based on new information and updated projections.
For the most part, Governor Romney has not outlined cuts in specific programs. But if policymakers exempted Social Security from the cuts, as Romney has suggested, and cut Medicare, Medicaid, and all other entitlement and discretionary programs by the same percentage - to meet Romney's spending cap, defense spending target, and balanced budget requirement - then non-defense programs other than Social Security would have to be cut 29 percent in 2016 and 59 percent in 2022 (see Figure 1). Without the balanced budget requirement, the cuts would be smaller but still massive, reaching 40 percent in 2022.
The cuts that would be required under the Romney budget proposals in programs such as veterans' disability compensation, Supplemental Security Income (SSI) for poor elderly and disabled individuals, SNAP (formerly food stamps), and child nutrition programs would move millions of households below the poverty line or drive them deeper into poverty. The cuts in Medicare and Medicaid would make health insurance unaffordable (or unavailable) to tens of millions of people. The cuts in non-defense discretionary programs - a spending category that covers a wide variety of public services such as elementary and secondary education, law enforcement, veterans' health care, environmental protection, and biomedical research - would come on top of the deep cuts in this part of the budget that are already in law due to the discretionary funding caps established in last year's Budget Control Act (BCA).

Yes, to protect their greed and the wealth they have fleeced from the rest of us Mitt Romney and the Republicans would continue to punish the not only the most helpless but the most essential folks to our country.
Disabled veterans, children, the elderly and disabled citizens would be asked to sacrifice. They would see funding for programs they depend on to survive slashed so rich assholes like Romeny can continue their lavish lifestyle. Romney would punish the folks who have already been left behind by folks like himself even further.
But it is worse than that. Romney would also cut spending to pay for our police, firefighters and would gut the American educational system and any chance we could compete globally in the future. He would gut protections from workers, protections from folks like himself who care little who gets hurt or dies as long as their bottom line continues to soar. He would gut any investment in moving America forward in this century. Sadly, these cuts would come on top of cuts that have already been established. Cuts in which men like Romney were spared sacrifice.
America is at a crossroads and has a decision to make. We are not only deciding an election but a direction forward or backwards for our country. Every American must decide what they want for our future. We can decide to allow vultures like Romney and his ilk continue to rob us blind and sacrifice the most helpless among us for their greed or we can choose a different path.
This election we need to stand together and tell folks like Romney "Enough". Their greed and hatred of their country and love of profits over people will not be what this country chooses to support over working Americans and the most helpless and vulnerable among us.
The very soul of our country is at stake. Will America sell its soul to the devil known as Mitt Romney and the Republican Party or will we finally stand up and fight for our families, homes and those we love?? If we do not we will definately watch in horror as the evil of the Republican Party destroys our country and steals the last hope for freedom we have left. What remains of the middle-class. I just hope we are strong and smart enough to fight back now. Tomorrow will be too late.

| REPUBLICANS GO FOR A DECISIVE WIN IN THEIR CLASS WAR | Published: 01/12/12 |

Today's events in the "fiscal cliff" negotiations should show Americans one thing. Republicans have gone on offensive in their all-out war against most of America. They are showing in no uncertain terms that they simply do not care what Americans want or what is best for them. Their only goal is what it always has been. To redistribute wealth upwards to a very few and keep it there, and to leave w...

In the budget "negotiations" to avert the physical cliff one thing must happen. Democrats must stand with the American people and stand firm. We need to let Washington know in no uncertain terms we will not allow them to balance the budget on the backs of the poor, the sick, working Americans and children. Any compromise must include the expiration of the Bush Tax Cuts for the very wealthy. With ...

| BOEHNER SHUNS COMPROMISE, REPEATS THE BIG LIE | Published: 28/11/12 |

We have been saying it for a long time around here and once again it is ringing true. While Republican "leaders" play lip service to "bi-partisanship" and "compromise" to them this really means only one thing. That they themselves do not come to the table and offer any concessions whatsoever. And even as members in their rank and file break away and at least consider doing the will of the American...

| WILL AMERICA FALL FOR THE BIG LIE ONCE AGAIN? | Published: 27/11/12 |

Republicans are up to their old tricks. In their never-ending quest to balance the budget on the backs of working Americans while giving themselves a free pass no lie is too big. However as always it boils down to only one big lie. The lie Republicans push that letting the Bush Tax Cuts for the very rich expire will hurt "small businesses". Despite an election that clearly showed where the Amer...
