It may not be the safest place for a snack but this seal was happy to scour the Thames for food.
The mammal bobbed on a wooden pallet near the Thames Barrier, stretching out in the winter sun as heavy river traffic sailed around him.
Wildlife experts believe it was attracted by the plentiful supply of fish in the river.
Fish and ships: The seal was in search of a feast, oblivious to the heavy river traffic around him
