The peoples of the modern world of many countries including the US and Britain are eating themselves into early graves. The obesity epidemic is even creeping into the countries of the med whose diet was always exceptionally good. Fast food chains such as McDonalds must take the blame for a lot of these problems.
However, fortunately people are beginning to realise that eating huge amounts of food is causing a crisis which is crippling the health services and shortening lives dramatically.
The thing is the food is being eaten in vast quantities because it’s there. Strange as it may seem wartime gives a better diet and healthier eating.
In Britain during and after the war, food was very scarce and so people ate much less and also thought of ways to make what little they had more interesting. Instead of going to a burger café they used the meagre meat ration in different ways to eke it out. They grew their own vegetables to supplement, kept hens in back gardens. The tiniest bit of land was used to capacity.
It was a time of healthy eating which in turn gave a slimmer and less ill population. Britain now is looking towards the war years and although not copying exactly is encouraging people to look to vegetables and fruit.
The obesity epidemic is adding hugely to chronic illness such as diabetes, heart problems, cancers, high blood pressure and many more. Popping huge amounts of pills without looking to diet also is a waste of time and money.
Look to your Diet to stay healthy and live longer.
Exercise also plays a huge part.
