There was a young boy about 11 years old who was playing on a township fooball team.  He played several positions on the team, one of which was the punter. 

It was Sunday, and the big game had finally arrived and it was a home game for the Amity Lions.  The boys mom and dad on the sidelines cheering him on extremely proud of their star player. 

It was 4th down for the Lions and time for the boy to punt.  The ball was snapped and the opposing teams line came busting through.  The boy new he had no chance to really lay into the ball without it being blocked.  So he figured he might be able to edge it over their heads and maybe get ten yards out of the punt. 

That's when the boys nightmare had just begun.  His toe caught the tip of the ball and low and behold he kicked the ball BEHIND his head.  

The other team creamed him and jumped on the punt heading the wrong way.   The play was over and the boy brushed himself off after putting himself back together.  

You won't beleive what happened next - when the boy looked over toward the sidelines....................his parents were gone!!  Do you beleive that?  

The boy later said he could not understand why his parents would leave in the middle of such a big home game.  

Poor fellow!!
